The Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline is a free expert consumer advice service and the official energy watchdog, checking that energy companies are treating consumers fairly. They advise on consumer rights and give help with complaints to Trading Standards.

Money Saving Expert – Scams

For all the latest information about common scams and how to avoid them. Martin Lewis’ Money Saving Expert covers identifying and protecting yourself from scams, and what to do if you have been scammed. There is also a lot of useful information on a wide a range of financial topics.


Which? is a consumer organisation providing free online information on a broad range of consumer issues, and useful template letters.

They also offer a legal helpline and product reviews. However, both of these services require you to purchase a subscription.

European Consumer Centre

If you have a problem with your purchase in another EU country and cannot resolve it with the trader, you can check your rights on the European Consumer Centre website or call their free helpline.
